Spring is finally springing, and along with that, I have some exciting news...
Introducing Alchemists of Dawn!
Look at it!!!
I have a cover and title for my debut novel! Alchemists of Dawn is a gaslamp fantasy about a mother-daughter duo who must work together to solve a mystery at the heart of a notorious alchemical company.
If you love badass older female protagonists and stories about women in STEM (even if the STEM is magical), if you're looking for a fantasy novel with a positive mother-daughter dynamic, or if you've ever wondered what a corporate thriller set in a fantasy world would look like, then this book is for you!
I'm so excited for you all to meet Roxanne and Juliana, the two heroes of this story. Keep an eye out for a release date, which should be sometime in May!
Other Book News
Besides my own novel (obviously), I'm super excited for a bunch of upcoming releases this year! In no particular order:
The Tapestry of Fate, the 2nd book in the Amina al-Sirafi series by Shannon Chakraborty, is releasing in May. Follows the adventures of a middle-aged lady pirate tracking down magical artifacts in a fantasy version of the Muslim Indian Ocean world of the Middle Ages.
Dead Beat, the 3rd and final book of Leigh Bardugo's Alex Stern series, is releasing in September. A dark academia series set in a mystical version of Yale.
A Trade of Blood, the 3rd book in Robert Jackson Bennett's Shadow of the Leviathan series, comes out in August. Think classic murder mysteries with a Holmes and Watson dynamic, but in a setting featuring the genetic shenanigans of Annihilation.
This Shattered Tempest, the final book of Thea Guanzon's Hurricane Wars trilogy, is releasing in October. A Southeast Asian-inspired romantasy with a broody MMC and some very funny dialogue.

Cool Non-Book Stuff
I've been really enjoying Lincoln Michel's Counter Craft substack. Most of his stuff is about writing craft and the book industry, but I loved this post called Why You Should Still Build Your Raft of Art in the Sea of Slop. If you've ever wondered why we should bother making art in the face of the genAI onslaught, I highly encourage you to read this post.
